610 people get PM’S gift in Ctg

Chattogram district administration distributed 610 packets of gift items (relief) given by Prime Minister among 610 distressed artisans, indigent construction workers, van drivers and day laborers in the city in lockdown to curb the rise of corona infection.

Deputy Director (Local Government) Badiul Alam distributed the gift items at Dr. Khastgir Government Girls High School and District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Jamalkhan on Wednesday at the initiative of the district administration.

Each packet of gift items included 8 kg of rice, 2 kg of pulses, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 liter of soybean oil, 1 bar of soap.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) SM Zakaria, Executive Magistrate Md MasudRana, District Relief Officer Sajeeb Kumar Chakraborty, District Shilpakala Academy Executive Committee General Secretary SaifulAlamBabu, District Cultural Officer Moslem Uddin Sikder and drama personality TapashShekhar Das were present on the occasion.

BadiulAlam said Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the Father of the Nation, has directed to bring relief to distressed artists, artisans, indigent construction workers, van drivers, day laborers, Vedas and other unemployed people during the lockdown in Corona situation.

The issue of lockdown is being closely monitored so that no one is deprived of government relief.  We want no one to starve in this situation.

Gifts are being delivered to the homes of the lower and middle class who are embarrassed to call for help in public by telephoning and texting us.

 He said that in order to be protected from the epidemic, everyone has to wear a mask and follow the rules of health.  Public gatherings should be avoided.  One should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from each other when leaving the house in case of emergency.
