600,692 get first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Rangpur

The number of first dose recipient citizens of the Covid-19 vaccine rose to 6,00,692 in Rangpur division with inoculation of 916 more people with first dose of the jab on Saturday, reports BSS.

Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told BSS that the first dose recipient 6,00,692 citizens include 3,59,428 male and 2,41,264 female in the division where the vaccination campaign continues in all eight districts.

The district-wise break-up of first dose recipient 6,00,692 citizens stands at 1,69,970 in Rangpur, 44,646 in Panchagarh, 77,015 in Nilphamari, 37,589 Lalmonirhat, 46,392 in Kurigram, 49,602 in Thakurgaon, 1,12,486 in Dinajpur and 63,135 in Gaibandha.

"Meanwhile, 145 more citizens, all hailing from Rangpur district, were inoculated with the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine at Rangpur Medical College vaccination centre today," Dr Islam said.

With this, the total number of second dose recipient citizens rose to 3,88,520, including 2,47,577 male and 1,40,943 female, in the division.

However, none was vaccinated with the second dose of the jab in seven other districts of the division today due to vaccine scarcity

"The district-wise break-up of second dose recipient 3,88,520 citizens stands at 90,112 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,409 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha," he said.
