In Bogura, 52 new coronavirus infections have been detected. The number of people affected by corona in this district is now 3,763.
The district health department said in a briefing on Monday morning that the results of 254 samples tested in Bogura on July 12 have come out. 52 people have been newly infected. Of these, 37 are men, 12 are women and the remaining 3 are children.
On April 1, the first person in Bogura was infected with corona. Since then till July 12, a total of 22,495 samples have been collected in the district. Of these, 19,996 results have come.
Civil Surgeon in charge of Bogura Dr Mostafizur Rahman said in an online briefing that 60 more of the corona victims in the district have recovered. With this, a total of one thousand 837 people were cured. However, as there were no new deaths in the district, the total number of deaths remained unchanged at 70.
He said 27 out of 188 samples tested in the PCR lab of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) on July 12 tested positive. In the PCR lab of the private TMSS Medical College (TMC), out of 66 samples from Bogra, 25 came positive. Among the 52 newly infected people, Sadar had 34, Dhunat 5, Shajahanpur 4, Kahalu 2, Dupchanchia 2, Gabtali, Sherpur, Shibganj, Sonatala and Sariakandi had one each.
Dr Mostafizur Rahman further said that as 52 newly infected people did not have any symptoms; they have been asked to seek treatment from isolation in their respective homes. However, the victims are advised to contact the hospital if necessary.
