The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Friday (August 11) arrested 60 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in various areas in the city and seized drugs and arrested the drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement.
The law enforcers seized 9,334 pieces of Yaba tablets, 113.570kg hemp and 56 gram 60 puria of heroin, and 29 bottles Phensedyl from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the statement, a total of 39 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
