60,000 dozes of Covid-19 vaccine reach Jhenaidah

The first consignment of the Covid-19 vaccine arrived in Jhenaidah in first phase. The 60,000 doses of vaccines in five cartons supplied in the freezer van of Beximco pharmaceuticals were received by Jhenaidah civil surgeon on Friday noon. 

Officials of the district administration, police and health directorate officials were present during receiving the vaccines.

Jhenaidah civil surgeon Dr Salina Begum said that they received the vaccines in first phase which were preserved in the stores room of the expanded programme on immunization (EPI) section at her office.

She said training course for the trainers (ToT) was organized at her office on February 1 and 2. The said trainers will ensure training in respective upazila level employees. They are going to start the vaccination on February 7 among the targeted persons at a priority basis, civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum said.
