Seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Feni, taking the number of total cases to 26 in the district. Civil Surgeon Dr Sajjad Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday. Of the total infected, one is from Sadar upazila and others are from Chagalnaiya.
According to district health department sources, samples from 67 people were collected from Feni on Wednesday morning and sent to Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) Hospital and Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University's lab in Fauzdarhat, Chittagong. Among them, seven came positive.
Of the seven victims, six were from the same family. Samples of four female and two male members of the family of a public representative of Chagalnaiya upazila were collected and sent for testing. A female cleaner of Feni General Hospital is among those found infected on Wednesday.
