6 held in indigenious youth killing case

The rapid action battalion (RAB) personnel in Jhenaidah have detained six accused in aboriginal young man Swadhin Biswas killing case of village Bhagabannagar in Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah within 24 hours of the killing incident.  They were arrested from Bhatai Bazer area in the locality on Monday night. The arrested were Sazib Biswas, 20, Bijoy Biswas, 18, Sushanta Biswas, 35, Subhash Biswas, 40, Prasenjit Biswas, 26, and Palash Biswas, 16, of the village. 

RAB sources said, aboriginal youngman Swadhin Biswas, 22, son of Sunil Biswas was beaten to death by some of the religious zealots at the village following a traditional mud-game, locally known as Kadakhela marking the Chityra Puja in the midnight of Sunday.  

Later, Sunil Biswas, father of the deceased filed a case against 14 named and others unnamed with Shailkupa police station. 

The RAB team members conducted drives and managed to grill six of the accused from Bhatai Bazer area and handed over them to Shailkupa police station.
