Six women entrepreneurs (widows and divorced women) of Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali received solar power–run sewing machines at a ceremony on Wednesday. The programme held at Kalapara Upazila Parishad on Wednesday was organized by Action Aid Bangladesh under “Project to protect landless people- Phase-2”.Md Jahangir Hossain, UNO of Kalapara Upazila was present on the occasion as the chief guest while Taslima Akhter, Upazila Women Affairs Officer was the special guest. Among others, Md Jeyadul Karim, Upazila Youth Development Officer, Shahjada Parvez Tinu Mirdha, Dhankhali union parishad Chairman, and Md Humayan Kabir, president of Kalapara Press Club, were present in the programme.
Women Entrepreneurs Mahmuda, Shahida, Shukhi Begum, Shoma, Rozian and Asma of Dhankhali Upazila got the special kind of sewing machines.
