6,02,702 get first Covid jab

The number of first dose recipient citizens of the Covid-19 vaccine rose to 6,02,702 in Rangpur division with inoculation of 650 more people with first dose of the jab on Thursday.

Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told BSS that the first dose recipient 6,02,702 citizens include 3,60,333 male and 2,42,369 female in the division.   

The district-wise break-up of first dose recipient 6,02,702 citizens stands at 1,70,956 in Rangpur, 44,685 in Panchagarh, 77,084 in Nilphamari, 37,644 Lalmonirhat, 46,438 in Kurigram, 49,704 in Thakurgaon, 1,13,137 in Dinajpur and 63,197 in Gaibandha.

“Meanwhile, 80 more citizens, including 73 male and seven female of Rangpur and Thakurgaon districts, were inoculated with the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the division today,” Dr Islam said.

With this, the total number of second dose recipient citizens rose to 3,88,850, including 2,47,871 male and 1,40,979 female, in the division.

However, none was vaccinated with the second dose of the jab in six other districts of Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Dinajpur and Gaibandha in the division today due to vaccine scarcity.

“The district-wise break-up of second dose recipient 3,88,850 citizens stands at 90,372 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,479 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha,” he said.
