In line with the theme "Education Lights the Way to a Better Bangladesh", a total of 6,000 students in Noapara, Raozan (Chattogram), have been awarded full-year education scholarships for 2025. The initiative, costing several crore taka, was undertaken by the Alhaj Jasim Uddin Foundation, founded by UAE-based expatriate businessman Alhaj Mohammad Jasim Uddin.
The scholarship distribution ceremony was held on Monday at the premises of Noapara High School, attended by teachers and students from around 150 educational institutions in the area.
The event was presided over by the foundation’s director and elder brother of the founder, Alhaj Mohammad Rafiq. The ceremony was conducted by Maulana Faridul Islam Ansari and journalist S. M. Yusuf Uddin. Raozan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zisan Bin Majed attended as chief guest, while the foundation’s founder inaugurated the event via video conference.
Speakers at the event, including district education officials and local dignitaries, praised the initiative as a rare and impactful contribution to the country’s education sector. They noted that such efforts help reduce dropout rates and support the educational journey of students from low-income families, ultimately improving their quality of life and contributing to national development.
