Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh, the first ever maritime specialized public university of the country holds its 5th annual senate meeting at the conference room of the temporary campus located at Pallabi in the capital on Wednesday.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal presided over the meeting.
BSMRMU Treasurer proposed revised budget of 32.90 crore for fiscal year 2018-2019 and budget of 36.30 crore for fiscal year 2019-2020 which got approved unanimously. Also, the 5th annual report of the university (July 2018 - June 2019) was presented at this meeting.
However, the university is determined to develop necessary maritime human resources for the nation in order to explore and collect maritime resources and hoped that, the university will contribute to the progress of the “Blue Economy” of the nation by innovation of modern technologies.
