The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday (August 31) arrested a total of 55 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement issued on Thursday.
The law enforcers seized 34,016 pieces of Yaba tablets, 14.5kg of hemp, 121.7gm of heroin and 112 bottles of phensedyl from their possessions, according to the statement.
According to the statement, 36 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
