The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday (August 3) arrested 53 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in various areas in the city. During the campaign, they seized drugs and arrested drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP press release.
The law enforcers have seized 87,188 pieces of Yaba tablets, 3.15kg hemp, 110gm heroin, 22 litres local wine and 25 litres foreign wine from their possessions, says the press release.
According to the press release, a total of 35 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
