It is good to note that as part of the government’s campaign to bring all landless and homeless families under housing facility, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to inaugurate the distribution of 53,340 more houses among landless and homeless families on June 20.
The fact which makes this initiative a marvellous one, is that apart from receiving the houses, the deprived families also received ownership papers of two decimal parcels. This will bring a huge sigh of relief for these homeless people as they do not have to worry for a home anymore and on top of that those families who constantly struggle to pay rent will never ever have to worry about that. This will ultimately lead to boost their self-esteem.
The government’s effort to improve
the life of the marginalised
people is commendable
Members of the rehabilitated families are getting training on various issues so that they can be involved in income-generating works.
Undeniably, offering houses to homeless people and their families will renew their hopes and dreams of taming poverty and increase their confidence. The recipients will not only be provided with houses but also with basic facilities and needs including health, education, and other utility services. Additionally, rudimentary rights will also be safeguarded for them, which will enhance their standard of living.
The difficult period of pandemic has led our country and the whole world to extensive unemployment and economic adversity. Amid all these, this project came as a blessing for the marginalized people. The government’s effort to improve the life of the most disregarded population of our country is commendable.
