Fifty one more people tested positive for Covid-19 in four districts of the division on Friday, taking the number detection to 97,071 since the pandemic began in March last year.
However, the new daily infection figure is one of the ever-lowest in the last couple of weeks since the second wave hit the country around five months back. The previous day's positive cases were 127 there.
Meanwhile, a total of 181 more people were cured from Covid-19 in the division on the same day, taking the recovery cases to 92,346 so far.
The death toll however reached 1,634, including 673 in Bogura, 304 in Rajshahi with 180 in its city, and 170 in Natore, as three fresh cases of fatality were reported during the period, Dr Talukder added.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 22,254 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 18,478 have by now been released. Meanwhile, 30 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 69 others were released from isolation during the same time.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest 17 were detected in Bogura, followed by 15 in Rajshahi, including 12 in its city, 14 in Sirajganj and five in Chapainawabganj districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 27,546 in Rajshahi, including 22,193 in city, 5,559 in Chapainawabganj, 6,334 in Naogaon, 8,202 in Natore, 4,549 in Joypurhat, 21,244 in Bogura, 11,157 in Sirajganj and 12,480 in Pabna.
A total of 1,11,122 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 1,07,844 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their 14-day quarantine.
