50 years of BD- UNESCO relationship celebrated

On the occasion of celebrating 50 years of relations between Bangladesh and UNESCO, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni mentioned the excellent relationship between Bangladesh and UNESCO and said that the role of UNESCO in human welfare including education for peace and not war is immense.

She also said that UNESCO is playing an important role in the preservation of history, heritage, culture and development of technology worldwide. 

The education minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 50 years relationship celebration programme held at a city hotel on Thursday. 

Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education Abu Bakar Siddique presided over the ceremony. 

where State Minister of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain, Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge of UNESCO Dhaka Office Susan Vize and Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh UNESCO National Commission Md. Sohail Imam Khan also spoke on the occasion.

High-ranking government and private officials, Dhaka-based UN and UNESCO officials, educationists, media workers and civil society individuals were present in the event.
