Five members of an inter-district robbery gang have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Pran Integrated Dairy Farm in Bogura. The Detective Branch (DB) of Bogura Police recovered two trucks used in the crime and Tk 105,000 in cash from the sale of stolen cattle.
The arrests were announced during a press briefing at 3 PM on Monday at the Bogura DB office, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Media). The suspects were detained during raids in Ashulia, Baipail, Nishchintapur Bazar, and Dholaikhal areas of Dhaka late Sunday night.
Those arrested are Didar (34), Abdul Mannan alias Munna (23), Ziaur Rahman (35), Sohel (28) from Bhola, and Zafar Hossain (45) from Dhaka. One of the suspects, Ziaur Rahman, has confessed and was presented before a magistrate to give a statement under Section 164.
The robbery occurred on 8 August at the Pran Dairy Farm in Ashekpur, Shahjahanpur. Robbers held the security guard at knifepoint and looted cattle and machinery worth over Tk 2.2 million.
The DB continues its operation to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover stolen items. DB Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar confirmed further arrests are expected soon.
