The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained five Bangladeshi nationals, including four women, from Moheshpur border in Jhenaidah.
BGB 58 battalion additional director Mehedi Hasan Khan quoting BGB battalion director Qamrul Ahsan said they were informed that a group of Bangladeshi people, most of them women, were attempting to enter neighboring Indian territory through the bordering area without any valid documents. The BGB personnel of Srinathpur camp conducted drive at about 10.30 pm of Monday and detained the five people.
The detainees were identified as Rimpa Khatun, 24, daughter of Amir Hossain of Sankaraprur bus stand in Jashore town, Madhuri Podder, 45, wife of Nilpada Podder of Sadipur village in Bagherpara of Jashore, Sabina Khatun, 40, wife of Babul Sheikh of village Chachuri, Emon Sheikh, 25, and his wife Litun Jira, 19, of Madhukhola village of Kalia in Narail.
The BGB filed a case with Moheshpur police station and handed over the detainees to police.
