5 fake question paper suppliers put on remand in Jhenidah

Five fake question papers suppliers out of six arrested in Jhenidah were put on remand by a Jhenidah court on Monday noon. The remand was granted by Mijanur Rahman, judge of senior Judicial magistrate court.

The court sources said Prasanata Kumar, Al Mamun and Tainul Alam were put on two-day remand, while Hasan Iqbal and Ripon Hossain were put one one-day remand. However, Abdul Majid, owner of the house from where the said five were arrested, was not put on any remand.

Detective Branch (DB) police sub inspector and investigation officer (IO) of the case Khairuzzaman said a number of persons were selling fake question papers to the examinees following the examination of appointment of assistant teachers of government primary schools in Jhenidah on June 21.

Police nabbed six men Prasanta Kumar, Al Mamun, Tainul Alam, Hasan Iqbal, Ripon Hossain and house owner Abdul Majid from New Academy high school area in the town with fake question papers and sale proceeds of the same.

A case was filed under public examination and cheating act with Jhenidah police station on the day. The arrested were involved with selling fake question papers following a number of examinations including appointment of assistant teachers for government primary schools, the police sad.
