The health directorate reported five deaths and 480 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours till 8am Saturday.
The positivity rate was recorded at 15.28 percent after testing 3,141 samples across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)
The country reported one death and 708 new Covid cases in the previous 24 hours.
The virus has claimed lives of 29,368 people and infected 20,25,677 so far, according to the statement.
The recovery count increase to 19,65,631 after another 273 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past 24 hours.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 1.45 percent of the total infected people died while 97.04 percent Covid-19 patients recovered, according to the DGHS data.
Among the 29,368 fatalities, 12,921 occurred in Dhaka Division, 5,896 in Chattogram, 2,155 in Rajshahi, 3,733 in Khulna, 992 in Barishal, 1,347 in Sylhet, 1,426 in Rangpur and 898 in Mymensingh divisions.
