A mobile-court of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in a drive on Thursday filed five cases against a rice warehouse owner, three retailers and a restaurant owner in Badamtali area in the old city as they couldn't show renewed trade license immediately.
DSCC Executive Magistrate Afifa Khan along with chairman of standing committee on market price control of the corporation Md Shahid Ullah Minu and DSCC Zone-4 regional executive officer Md Haider Ali conducted the drive in order to control and keep steady the market price of rice.
The drive was conducted at a rice warehouse in Babubazar area and three rice retailers at Nabab Yusuf Ali Market and owner of an adjoining restaurant and Taka 28,000 was realized as fine in the five cases.
About the drive, the executive magistrate said the cases were lodged and fine was realized for doing business without holding trade license or renewed license and for occupying road.
DSCC 32 number ward's councilor Md Mannan was present on the occasion among others.
