A special team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained five members of banned militant outfit ‘Allahar Dal’ in Khulna city early on Sunday (December 29). They were detained while holding a secret meeting at Labanchar area at dawn; RAB-6 issued a press release at noon.
The detainees were identified as Jashore District Nayek Elias Kanchan Ripon, 37, joint Jashore district Nayek Md Mukul Hossain, 36, assistant Jashore district Nayek Md Yasin Ali, 38, upazila Nayek, Md Sukkur Ali, 29 and village Nayek, Md Sohanur Rahman Sohan, 23.
A hand note, leaflets, extremist books were also seized in the drive, release said. Upon primary interrogation, detainees said they had been involved with the organization for long.
They had been carrying out tasks of member selection, collecting money from various sources, swearing allegiance of members, the release also said.
