Girls outperformed boys in both pass rate and number of GPA-5 achievers. A total of 2,707 students obtained GPA-5, of whom 1,749 were female students and 958 were male.

This year, 99,576 students appeared for the exam under Comilla Board. Among them, 57,524 were female and 42,052 male. Of the total, 48,657 students passed – 30,701 girls and 17,956 boys. The pass rate for girls was 53.37%, while boys lagged behind at 42.70%.

The announcement was made on Thursday at 10:00 am by Comilla Education Board Chairman Professor Md Shamsul Islam. Also present were Board Secretary Khandaker Md Sadekur Rahman, College Inspector Professor Nurunnabi Alam, Controller of Examinations Runa Nasrin, and Deputy Controller Md Salauddin.

Five institutions achieved a 100% pass rate, while nine institutions had zero students pass.

When asked about the poor results in many colleges, the board chairman cited several reasons, including student absenteeism, lack of teacher engagement, and student inattentiveness. He assured that these issues would be addressed and necessary actions would be taken to improve future performance.

The board has committed to identifying problem areas and implementing targeted measures to enhance the overall standard of education in the region.
