The date of the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Preliminary Examination has been postponed once again. This is the second time the exam date has been changed.

According to a new announcement by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday, the 47th BCS preliminary test will now be held on September 19. PSC Public Relations Officer SM Motiur Rahman confirmed the news in a press release issued around 5:30 PM.

Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held on August 8. Before that, the first announced date for the preliminary test was June 27. With this latest change, the preliminary exam date has been deferred twice.

As per the PSC announcement, the 47th BCS Preliminary Examination will be held on Friday, September 19, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Details about the exam schedule, seat plans, and other important instructions will be available later on the PSC’s official website and the website of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited.

The circular for the 47th BCS was initially published on November 28, 2024. However, due to changes in application fees and other corrections, a revised circular was issued on December 26, 2024. The online application process started on December 29, 2024, and ended on February 27, 2025.

A total of 374,747 candidates have applied to participate in the preliminary test of the 47th BCS. According to the circular, there are 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre posts available. In total, 3,688 candidates will be recruited through this BCS exam.

The PSC has also mentioned that a special BCS for education and health cadres will be announced soon.
