The 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) written exam, which was scheduled to start on August 28, has been postponed. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) announced this in a circular on August 25.
The PSC's notification stated that the decision to postpone the exam was made due to unavoidable circumstances. A new date for the written examination will be announced later, the PSC informed.
The 46th BCS is a significant event for many candidates across the country. A total of 10,638 candidates have successfully passed the preliminary examination and were set to appear for the written test. This BCS exam offers a total of 3,140 posts in various government cadres, with the majority of the positions in the health and education sectors.
In the health cadre, 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons will be recruited. The education cadre will see the second-highest number of recruitments, with 520 positions available for BCS education in various subjects. These positions are highly competitive, and the delay in the written exam may add to the anxiety of the candidates who have been preparing for this important test.
The PSC has assured candidates that the new exam date will be announced well in advance, giving them sufficient time to prepare. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on official announcements for further updates.
The BCS exam is one of the most sought-after opportunities for job seekers in Bangladesh, offering a chance to secure prestigious government positions. With the written exam now postponed, candidates will need to stay patient and continue their preparations until the new date is set.
