442, including Amir Khasru, sent to jail 19 others placed on remand

A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent 442 people, including BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, to jail in different cases filed with different police stations in the capital in connection with sabotages, violence, arson attacks and killing of people.

Among them, nineteen arrestees were placed on remand for different durations.

Seven of them are at Dhanmondi Police Station, one at Shahbagh Police Station, and four are at Mirpur Police Station.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka gave the order after the police produced the arrestees before the court.

Amir Khasru was produced before the court after a three-day remand in a case filed with Rampura Police Station on the charge of attacking and setting fire to the BTV building. The court sent him to jail.

In eight sabotage cases filed with Jatrabari Police Station, 98 people were sent to jail; three in a case with Paltan Police Station; four in a case with Motijheel Police Station; 14 in five cases with Mirpur Police Station; nine in two cases with Uttara West Police Station; 62 people in six cases with Uttara East Police Station; 16 in a case with Kadamtali Police Station; 11 in a case with Lalbagh Police Station; seven people in seven cases with Turag Police Station; 11 in two cases with Mohammadpur Police Station; three in a case with Adabor Police Station; four in a case with Vatara Police Station; 11 in a case with Banani Police Station; one in a case with Gulshan Police Station; 14 in three cases with Dhanmondi Police Station; 20 in two cases with Hatirjheel Police Station; one in a case with Ramna Police Station; three in a case with Sabujbagh Police Station; three in a case with New Market Police Station; eight in a case with Kotwali Police Station; nine in a case with Pallabi Police Station; three in a case with Kafrul Police Station; six in a case with Sutrapur Police Station; six in two cases with Demra Police Station; six in a case with Mugda Police Station; nine in a case with Rupnagar Police Station; 26 in a case with Badda Police Station; six in a case with Shahjahanpur Police Station; five in two cases with Airport Police Station; five in a case with Chawk Bazar Police Station; five in a case with Bangshal Police Station; and 33 people were sent to jail in a case with Rampura Police Station.

It should be noted that on Sunday, 119 people, on Monday, 355 people, and on Tuesday, 467 people were sent to jail.
