430 homeless families receive new houses in Rajbari

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday inaugurated the second phase of land and house distribution programme through video conference on the occasion of Mujib Year across the year.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the second phase of providing land and houses virtually joining the Upazila Parishad auditorium. 

Earlier on January 23, the Prime Minister gifted houses and land to about 70,000 families across the country in the first phase.

In the second phase, 430 more landless and homeless families in 4 out of 5 upazilas of Rajbari district got new disaster-proof pucca houses as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Mujib Year.

Out of 53,340 houses, 430 houses were handed over in the second phase in Rajbari. Of these, 300 are in Rajbari Sadar, 30 in Goalanda, 30 in Pangsha and 70 in Baliakandi. 

The construction cost of which has been estimated at Tk 8 crore 17 lakh. Earlier, in the first phase, 760 houses were constructed at a cost of Tk 12 crore 99 lakh 60 thousand in Rajbari and handed over to the homeless.

The inaugural function at Rajbari Sadar Upazila was presided over by Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Fahmi Mohammad Saif while Rajbari-1 MP Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali, Deputy Commissioner Dilsad Begum, District Council Chairman Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Superintendent of Police MM Shakilzaman, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Emdadul Haque Biswas, Vice Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Rakibul Hasan Pial and others were present.
