The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday (July 13) detained 43 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaigns in various areas in the city, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement issued on Thursday.
During the operations, they seized 21,389 pieces of Yaba tablets, 36.9kg hemp and 269gm heroin from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the statement, a total of 28 cases have been filed against the detained people under the Narcotics Control Act.
