Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug peddler in possession of 40,000 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from the capital’s Darussalam area on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Yunus Hossain, 38. Assistant Superintendent of Police Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury of RAB-4 confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post on Saturday.
Tipped-off, a team of RAB-4 raided in the Darussalam Police Station area of the capital on Friday night. The elite then seized 40,000 pieces of Yaba pills from a cattle laden truck and nabbed one. RAB also seized the truck. During the primary interrogation, the arrestee admitted to peddling Yaba pills from Chittagong and Cox's Bazar to Dhaka’ Mirpur and its surrounding areas for long using trucks, covered vans, pickups, and private cars.
The arrestee was handed over to the local police.
A case was filed with the Darussalam Police Station in this connection.
