Dayalika, a small child from Moulvibazar’s Srimangal is barely four and a half years old. At this age, she has memorized the names of the capitals of 190 countries of the world. Whenever anyone says the name of a country, she immediately says the name of the capital of that country. At the same time, she can say the English names of different types of vegetables and fruits.
At such a young age, this skill shows her unique talent. Deyalika's full name is Deyalika Chowdhury. Father Debashish Chowdhury is a businessman, mother Sushmita Dutta is a housewife. They live on Guha
Road in Srimangal town. Dayalika has been admitted to the nursery class at Notre Dame School and College in the city this year. Deyalika's mother's contribution is more behind this achievement.
Last December, Sushmita Dutta started teaching her daughter the names of different countries and capitals. Her daughter's memory is so sharp that she can catch up with these things very shortly and she also becomes enthusiastic. Later she collected the names of all the countries and the names of the capitals and began to teach her. At first, she had difficulty pronouncing the names of some countries and the names of their capitals however she learned these pronunciations herself with the help of Google and YouTube.
Sushmita Dutta also added, ‘When any vegetable or fruit is brought home, Dayalika asks for its English name and I tell her. She remembers it when she hears it. That's how she learns. It is her willpower that helps her to learn these things. I just tell her once or twice. At this age his curiosity is strong. She is also very keen on her studies.
Her parents believe in five ways to develop children's talents: an early start, expert instruction, deliberate practice, a center of excellence, and singleness of purpose. They are proving all the opportunities to encourage their daughter.
