4 songs of Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul in album

January 22 was the first death anniversary of National Film Awardee renowned songwriter, freedom fighter Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul. 

But during the day, there was no special event to remember Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul. On Thursday, Prasenjit Ojha recalled the late Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul with a rare exception. 

A year before Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul died, Prasenjit Ojha composed four songs written by Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul. And Parvin Akhter Lotus gave voice to the songs. 

An album with the four songs titled ‘Meghla Mon’. On the evening of January 24, a special programme was organized in memory of Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul at the Bishwo Shahitya Kenda in the capital, the album was released on the occasion. 

Leading musician Syed Abdul Hadi was the chief guest on the occasion. Also present were renowned music director Farid Ahmed, National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam researcher Salauddin Ahmed, poet and researcher Tapan Bakchi, composer Sumon Kalyan, musician Sandipan, Ajay Mitra, CEO of Protune and lyricist Prasenjit Ojha. Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul was fondly remembered by the artistes present there.

Syed Abdul Hadi said, “I first met Bulbul through doing a few songs on BTV. Later, in Ibne Mizan’s ‘Chandan Dwiper Rajkanua’ movie, some songs written by him and composed by me became very popular. The great talent of a true maestro like him has gone away from us. I wish him peace.” 

National Film Awardee Music Director Farid Ahmed extends his sincere thanks and gratitude to all involved, including the event’s organizer Prasenjit Ojha. It is to be noted that Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul died on January 22 of last year.
