It is exhilarating to note that four mega projects, including Padma Multi Purpose Bridge will open to traffic this year. Construction works on four mega projects – Padma Bridge, Metro Rail, Dhaka Elevated Expressway and Karnaphuli Tunnel – are going on in full swing and they will be inaugurated by June. Therefore, we believe a revolutionary change will be brought in the country’s communication sector this year.
The Padma Bridge will change the economic landscape of southwest districts of the country, as well as it will connect many countries of South and Southeast Asia and contribute to communication, trade, industry, tourism and many other sectors in various ways. And the Metro Rail and Dhaka Elevated Expressway will reduce traffic congestion in capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas while the Karnaphuli Tunnel will link the main port city Chattogram and western side of the Karnaphuli along with the heavy industry-prone eastern side of the river.
We need cooperation from all the stakeholders
in order to implement the dream projects timely
With the implementation of these mega projects, four of the major election pledges of Awami League led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are going to be materialised this year.
The ruling Awami League is working restlessly to implement its election pledges amid all odds and conspiracies. While announcing her party’s election manifesto ahead of the 11th parliamentary in 2018, Sheikh Hasina had given commitment to implement ten mega projects. And for the first time in the country, ten mega projects are being implemented.
We need cooperation from all the stakeholders in order to implement the dream projects timely. Besides, the government will have to move forward cautiously so that no conspiracy can impede the current development spree of the country.
Bangladesh is marching forward manifesting massive development under the prudent leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter. If any element wants to create anarchic situation in the country to stop the development of the present government, we all must resist them together. Therefore, the government will be able to complete the other unfinished projects alongside handling the pandemic in one hand, and keeping the wheels of economy running on the other hand.
