Four cattle traders were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and private car in Jashore. The accident took place at Dhopakhola area on Benapole-Jashore highway road on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Nayan Ali (40), Jony Mia (38), Naeem Hossain (50) and Sadman (48). They are known to be cattle traders in Muradnagar area of Chittagong.
Jashore Kotwali Police Station OC Tajul Islam said, prior to the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, they were going to the seven-mile cattle market in Sharsha upazila of Jashore district with a private car to buy cattle.
When their private car reached in Dhopakhola area, 4 passengers of the privet car died on the spot in a head-on collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Besides, another cattle trader Shahabuddin has admitted to Jashore General Hospital in critical condition. However, his condition is also alarming.
