At least four persons were killed and eight others injured as two passenger buses collided head on with one another on Dhaka-Bogura highway in Dashmail-Sherpur area of the district on early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rowshon Habib, 35, Rejaul Islam Sagar, 22, so of Sirajul, hailed from Dimla Upazila of Sirajganj, Mostafa, 25, son of Manik Mia and Babul Islam, 50, son of Rahim Uddin.
Police sources said that a passenger bus collided head on with another bus coming from opposite direction at 2:00am in the area, leaving four people dead on the
spot and eight others injured
critically.
However, the injured were rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, several others were injured in some other accidents in Bogura on Saturday.
On information, members of Sherpur Fire Service and Highway Police went to the spot and sent the injured to hospital. They also seized the buses.
Additional Police Superintendent of Sherpur Gaziur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police personnel by the firefighters.
