4 held with 20,800 Yaba pills in Ctg

Conducting separate raids in Satkania and Lohagara, Chattogram district police arrested four people with a total of 20,800 Yaba pills, informed district police on Friday. 

A truck and a private car used for transporting yaba were also seized during the operation.

The arrestees are identified as Mohammad Abul Kashem, 45, of Khuniapalang area under Ramu police station of Cox's Bazar, Mohammad Saiful Islam, 33, of Puran Pallan area under Teknaf police station of Cox’s Bazar, his wife Shahina Akter, 23, of Cumilla’s Chauddagram and Md. Hasan, 30, of Kaitara area under Teknaf police station.

Lohagara police arrested Abul Kashem with 14,000 pieces of yaba from Satkania Road while transporting yaba from Cox's Bazar by truck and Md Hasan from in front of Lohagara Upazila Parishad with 4,000 pieces of yaba.  A private car was seized from Hasan.

Saiful Islam and his wife Shahina Akter were arrested with 2,800 pieces of yaba in front of the Chunti Forest Range Officer's Office. Lohagara Police Station SI Mahfuzur Rahman said they were transporting yaba, hiding them in their shoes from Teknaf. 

Chattogram Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque confirming the news said separate cases have been filed against the arrestees after handing them over to the concerned police station. 

They have been sent to jail through the courts. Meanwhile, Lohagara Police Station SI Rezwanul Islam arrested a drug dealer named Mohammad Noman, 40 with 500 grams of cannabis conducting a raid at Chunti Deputy Para area.
