Police detained four man on allegation of collecting extortion in Jhenaidah’s Moheshpur upazila on Tueasday
The detainees were identified as Mohammad Shakil, Sumon Hossain, Hussain and Jahid Hasan. More details were unavailable.
Superintendent of police (SP) in Jhenaidah Mohammad Hasanuzzamn said being informed, police conducted drives at Moheshpur road on Tuesday midnight and arrested the four in possession with money collection receipts.
They detainees were collecting money from the drivers on the roads violating the government’s guidelines, he added.
Police produced them to the district court after filing a case with Moheshpur police station with four under the Speedy Trial Act.
