Four fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after testing 286 new samples at the positivity rate of 1.40 percent in Rangpur division on Saturday.
"With the diagnosis of four new cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,913 here," Divisional Deputy Director (Health) Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman said on Sunday.
The number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,549 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Sunday in the division. The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,292 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, more 8,299 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered as the first, second and booster doses on Saturday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore 31 lakh 31 thousand and 760 doses here.
Among the administered Covid-19 jabs on Saturday, 5,160 children got the jabs as the first doses on the second day of the vaccination campaign launched for children aged 5-11 years.
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs so far, 1,40,17,007 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,32,53,766 as the second doses and 58,60,987 as the booster doses," Dr. Rahman said.
