Three firefighters and an official sustained burn injuries while trying to control a fire that broke out at a chemical godown in Tongi’s Sahara Market on Monday afternoon.
Talha Bin Zashim, Station Officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire erupted at a tin-shed chemical warehouse in the market around 3:30pm.
Upon receiving the information, seven firefighting units rushed to the scene and began efforts to bring the blaze under control.
During the operation, four people — including three firefighters and one Fire Service officer — were injured, he said.
The identities of the injured are yet to be confirmed.
