4,640 farmers get agri incentives in Raozan

A total of 4,640 farmers in Raozan upazila of Chattogram received seeds and fertilizers as agricultural incentives under the Agricultural Rehabilitation Program for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Seeds of BORO Hybrid and Ufshi paddy for the upcoming Rabi season, along with fertilizers, were distributed among the farmers, in an effort to increase rice production. Additionally, each farmer was provided with 1 kilogram of mustard seed to promote oilseed crop production. The distribution ceremony took place on Thursday morning at the upazila parishad premises, presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Masum Kabir.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ridwanul Islam attended the event as chief guest. Agriculture Extension Officer Sirajam Munir and other local officers were also present at that time. 

Masum Kabir said that 4,640 small and marginal farmers across 14 unions and municipalities of the upazila received the free seeds and fertilizers. Among them, 1,800 farmers received 2 kilograms of hybrid rice seeds, while 2,840 farmers received 5 kilograms of upland rice seeds along with 10 kilograms each of DAP and MOP fertilizers. The initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve the livelihoods of farmers.
