39 more patients died of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the country during the last 24 hours. With this number, the total death toll in Corona stands at 3, 437 and the detection of 2,907 new cases of Coronavirus infection in the country during the same time totalling the number 260,509 so far, informed Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General ( Admin.) of the Department of Health during the routine online briefing on Coronavirus situation in the country on Monday (Aug-10).
Dr Nasima Sultana said samples of 12,855 were collected and 12,849 samples have been tested in 82 laboratories during the last 24 -hour. So far samples of 1,273,168 have been tested. She added, a total of 2,067 patients have been recovered from Covid-19 during last 24-hour totalling 150,437 recoveries so far.
The Coronavirus was first detected in the country on March 8 this year and the first death in the virus was reported on March 18
