The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Saturday (July 15) detained 39 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaigns in various areas in the city. During the drive, they seized drugs and detained drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP release.
They seized 541 pieces of Yaba tablets, 8.77kg of hemp, 250.5gm heroin and 30 pieces of injectable drugs from their possessions, the statement said.
According to press release, a total of 29 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
