380 women of hill districts to get cow

An initiative has been taken to distribute cow among 380 women of three hilly districts aiming to make the women self-reliant. Among them, 140 women will get the cow in Bandarban district, while 120 in Rangamati and 120 others in Khagrachhari. 

According to the sources of CHT Development Board, the cows will be distributed among poor and marginal women for their development. CHT Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Singh, MP, inaugurated the cow distribution programme at a function as the chief guest at the office of Raicha Union Parishad in Bandarban on Saturday. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Bandarban Md Shamim Hossain, ASP Md Kamaruzzaman and others were present at the time. 

Speaking at the event, CHT Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Singh said that the cow is being distributed among the poor women as part of government’s programme to fight against poverty.
