38 percent seats remain vacant at IU

Around 38 percents seats remained vacant at Islamic university (IU) in Kushtia after completing the admission procedures from merit lists under 2019-20 academic sessions of the university. As many as 1,433 students against 2,305 seats of the university have already completed their entrance procedures whereas 872 seats remained vacant, IU academic office sources said on Tuesday afternoon. Prof Dr Anowar Hossain, coordinator of ‘B’ unit said 431 seats are still vacant against 1065 seats of the unit for Arts, Social Sciences and Law faculties. The waiting list viva voce of unit will be held on Dec 17.30 seats of ‘A’ under Theology and Islamic Studies faculty and 156 seats of ‘C’ unit  from Business Administration faculty  while 255 seats still vacant in the ‘D’ under Science, Engineering Technology and Biological Science.

Besides, the viva voce for the waiting list’s candidates of ‘A’ and  ‘D’ units will be held on on December 17 and the waiting list viva voce for ‘C’ units will be held on December 15. For more details, the candidates are asked to visit the university website www.iu.ac.bd. Mentioned, the viva voce for the merit lists candidates began on November 23.
