On Friday morning from the revenue fund of Kurigram Zila Parishad, financial assistance was distributed among 36 mosques, madrasas, orphanages, crematoriums, cemeteries and various socio-cultural organizations of the Municipal area for their development.
Former MP Alhaj Zafar Ali, chairman of Kurigram Zilla Parishad and president of district Awami League, was the chief
guest at the distribution ceremony held in the hall of Kurigram Municipality.
Former MP Alhaj Zafar Ali at the time said, “Kurigram Zilla Parishad has been made corruption free. Therefore, the development work of the institutions in the name of which the money was being distributed should not be jeopardized with any irregularities.”
Mayor of Kurigram Municipality Md. Kaziul Islam presided over the function while among others Mahbuba Akter Lovely, a female member of Kurigram District Council, Councilor of Ward 3 of Kurigram Municipality Rostam Ali Tota, Principal of Kurigram Alia Kamil Madrasa Maulana Md. Nur Bakht, Editor of Daily Kurigram Khabar Patrika SM Chanalal Bakshi spoke.
