The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Tuesday (July 25) detained 36 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
On information, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in various areas in the city. During the drive, the law enforcers seized drugs and detained drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP press release.
The law enforcers seized 846 pieces of Yaba tablets, 2.65kg of hemp, 105.4gm of heroin, 2 bottles of phensedyl and 45 bottles of foreign wine from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the press release, a total of 27 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
