Six more persons died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number of deaths to 74 in Chapainawabganj district.
“The number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 3,168 as 35 more people were detected positive after testing 371 samples in the district during the period while the infection rate is 16.16 percent,” sources of the Civil Surgeon Office in Chapainawabganj confirmed, reports BSS.
Of the new fatalities, five are reported from Sadar upazila and one from Gomastapur upazila.
Among the newly detected patients, 11 people are from Sadar upazila, three from Shibganj upazila, 15 from Gomastapur upazila, four from Nachole upazila and two from Bholahat upazila.
A total of 1,294 patients, in which 72 in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others in home quarantine, are undergoing treatment in the district while 1,800 patients have so far been recovered from the deadly disease here, the sources added.
