35 IU students get Dean’s Award

A total of 35 students from eight faculties of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have been awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.

The award-giving ceremony was held yesterday at the Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on the campus in a joyous atmosphere. Each awardee received a medal, certificate, and financial honorarium at the event.

IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah addressed the ceremony as the chief guest. Pro-VC Prof Dr M Yaqub Ali and Treasurer Prof Dr Jahangir Alam attended the event as special guests. The programme was presided over by Prof Dr ABM Siddiqur Rahman Asrafi, dean of the Theology and Islamic Studies faculty.

Among others, IU Proctor Prof Dr Shahinuzzaman, student advisor Prof Dr Obayedul Islam, deans of different faculties, chairpersons of various departments, hall provosts, teachers, students, and administrative officials were also present.

Family members of the award-winning students also joined the event, expressing their pride and happiness on the occasion.

Congratulating the awardees, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah said, “This award adds a significant star to your CV. You have achieved this through merit, and that same brilliance will shine in your future career. Strive for further success and make the university proud at national and international levels.”

He also called upon the faculty members to ensure the delivery of quality education and to be fair, responsible, and thoughtful in assessing students’ performance.

The Dean’s Award is given every year to recognise and inspire meritorious students for their academic excellence across various faculties of the university. The event ended with a group photo session of the awardees with the guests.
