The Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) authorities recorded at least 45 fire incidents across the country by riotous people in 17 hours from 1: pm on Saturday to 6:00pm on Sunday.
In a press release issued by the FSCD Media Cell on Sunday also said that at least 19 buses, three microbuses, three ambulances, one truck, seven motorcycles, three pick-up vans and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were burnt in the fire incidents.
Besides, police outposts, electricity offices, bus counters and political party offices were also burnt during this period, the release added.
It said 27 of the fire incidents were reported in the capital and the rest number of fire incidents took place elsewhere in the country.
According to the press release, 41 cases of fire were reported in Dhaka division, one in Rajshahi division, two in Khulna division, and one in Rangpur division.
