Around 335 ducks of a farmer have allegedly been poisoned to death in Gobindapur village under Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district.
Farmer Cherag Ali (65) has been raising ducks for about 14 years. He had around 500 ducks and 335 of them died last Thursday.
Cherag Ali claimed that his ducks died after eating poisoned paddy. He did not see who might have been responsible for such a henious act.
He claimed a loss of lakhs of taka one lakh and said, he would file a written complaint with Juri police station in this connection.
Mofiz Ali, the leaseholder of Gobindapur Jaor, said that they were not aware of anything about the incident.
Officer-in-charge of Juri Police Station Md. Murshedul Alam Bhuiyan said that necessary legal action will be taken in this regard after investigation.
