328 tenders submitted in largest auction of Customs

The biggest auction in the history of Chittagong Customs House was held on Tuesday. In this, 300 tenders have been submitted in the port city of and 28 tenders have been submitted in the capital Dhaka.

Customs auction branch Deputy Commissioner Farid Al Mamun said this to the Daily Bangladesh Post on Wednesday. He said tenders were submitted from 9 am to 2 pm and were opened at around 2.30 pm.  A total of 328 tenders were received. They had 175 catalogs and 366 containers and the quantity of product is 3,500 metric tons.

He said that the tenders are being verified now. A letter will be issued for unloading the auctioned goods by publishing the list of the highest tenders. 

Then he will be able to unload the product. According to customs sources, there are more than 40 containers of garments in the auction and Capital machineries are in 28 containers. 

The auction also included three Toyota and a Mercedes Benz car.  cThere are more than a hundred containers of various types of products including garments accessories, various types of fabrics, chemicals, electronics, paper, paper products, hardware, textile machineries and ceramic items.
